This fall, Beta Engineering achieved a company milestone with the energization of its latest solar project. Beta has now interconnected more than 5,000 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy—enough power for more than 3.5 million homes. Of this total, over 1,500 MW of the projects were connected by the Agile by Beta® product family.
“With almost 50 years of high-voltage expertise and an experienced team of engineers and project managers who are subject-matter experts on Factory-Built Substations, we offer our clients a competitive advantage when interconnecting their renewable projects,” said Brad Fontenot, Beta President. “We’re proud to help build a stronger and more resilient grid to support community and industry growth.”
As the future of energy changes, Beta stands ready to help customers build and upgrade their high-voltage projects to meet the demands of the electric power grid. One of the ways we're supporting electricity needs right now is by building substations, switchyards, and transmission lines for solar, wind, and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. Our innovative Agile design-build solution is a big part of this process.
Renewable developers often prefer Agile over conventional engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) methods because Agile leverages a pre-built modular approach that shifts the majority of construction from the field to the factory. This reduces weather delays, safety risk, and construction time in the field, resulting in projects that can be delivered faster, safer, and at a lower cost than conventional EPC methods. Agile also offers the opportunity for utilities and developers to standardize their substations and switchyards when planning a pipeline of similar projects.
Beta Engineering is a private, family-owned engineering, procurement and construction company with headquarters in Pineville, LA, as well as an office San Diego. Beta has been building high-voltage substation and transmission line projects for power delivery companies across the U.S. since 1975. Contact our team of experts to discuss your project needs.
At Beta, we also believe in cultivating a team that wins together and provides quality results for our customers’ critical power needs. View our current openings and apply today to begin making a powerful difference.
