In celebration of Careers in Construction Month, we interviewed Beta Construction Manager Bill Posey about what he enjoys about working in the industry, safety, and the impact of his work on the nation’s electrical grid. Bill, who ran his own electrical construction contracting business before joining Beta, has more than 50 years of construction experience.
"Turnkey jobs are exciting—I like to build from groundbreaking to turning the project over to the owner,” Bill said. “There’s a sense of pride in the whole operation."
Bill has overseen the construction of some of Beta’s most complicated and challenging high voltage projects across the country, including projects connecting renewable energy sources to the grid. He enjoys sharing his knowledge with others and turning challenges into success.
Careers in Construction Month is an annual campaign that the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) launched nine years ago to raise awareness about career opportunities in the construction industry and to encourage individuals to join the next generation of construction professionals. The campaign is led by NCCER and its Build Your Future (BYF) initiative.
