Nearly 300 Central Louisiana high school students learned about career opportunities at Crest Industries’ fourth annual Manufacturing Day. The recent event featured booths hosted by Crest Industries’ various business units, including Beta.

Beta Substation Designers Robert England and Sean Bardwell explained the critical role that substations play in delivering electricity to communities. They also showed students substation connector components and examples of 2D modelling that is used to design high voltage substations and transmission lines.

Students also heard from industry leaders and Crest officials. This year’s event saw record-breaking attendance, triple the number students who attended last year.

Crest Industries is the holding company for a group of 10 vertically integrated companies serving the energy, electric, petrochemical and industrial markets. Crest also operates wholesale electrical supply facilities throughout Louisiana and owns and manages extensive forest lands in Louisiana and Texas.
