Beta recently began construction of two new 161/13kV substations and a new 161kV substation in Iowa. In addition, the project involves upgrading and expanding 10 existing substations.

Foundation construction is taking place along with installation of below-grade conduit and grounding. The project is designed to improve grid reliability and meet increasing demand. Seven sites are slated to be completed in December. The other six sites are targeting a June 2018 completion date.
