Beta Engineering started 2017 with a new president and vice president. Ross Twidwell, PE, assumed his new role as president following the retirement of Marvin Veuleman, PE, in December. Ross, who started at Beta in 2000, was previously Vice President of Civil Engineering.

Ross offers a wide array of design and management experience in the high voltage industry. Ross is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and serves on ASCE Subcommittee 113. He also serves as a subcommittee member of IEEE Standard 605, Standard 693 and Standard 1527.

Marvin began working for one of Beta’s sister companies in 1978 and was named President of Beta in 1991. During his tenure, Beta experienced significant growth and emerged as a leading provider of engineering, procurement and construction services in the electric power delivery market. Marvin continues to serve in an advisory role to Beta’s parent company, Crest Operations.

Sarah Halbert, PE, was promoted to Vice President of Civil Engineering in September. Sarah has been a strong team member for more than 12 years since joining Beta upon graduation from the Illinois Institute of Technology. She has experience in the design, management and construction of substation and transmission line projects.
